Nokia Gets Broadband Deal from GTPL in India

Nokia Corporation, the Finnish telecommunications company has made an announcement thatIndia’s GTPL Hathway will utilize its fixed access and core technology. With that, GTPL can improve and upgrade its network.

Nokia will use its fiber optics technology to replace GTPL’s legacy Ethernet-based access network. Fiber optics has the capability to provide ultra-broadband speeds. The users will be able to access the internet seamlessly.

Additionally, Nokia’s BNG solutions (Broadband Network Getaway) will be used by GTPL. The solutions will boost GTPL’s broadband access in residential areas. That will help GTPL’s customers to enjoy a fast and glitch-free internet services and help them to download high bandwidth application without congestion.

Furthermore, GTPL will also utilize the GPON technology of Nokia. It will improve the service speeds and provide the customers with ultra-broadband connections which also include services like linear TV, VOD, and many more.

By the end of this year, Nokia’s GPON equipment will be utilized in Gujarat. The largest multiple system operators in Gujarat is GTPL, and in the Western region of India, it has 67% shares in the cable TV market.

With Nokia’s fiber-enhanced access network upgrade will further enable GTPL to expand its market share.

“We are delighted to work with GTPL to transform its networks to deliver an improved network experience for its subscribers. This deployment will enable GTPL to meet fast-growing demand for a better and faster network experience,” said Vinish Bawa, head of emerging business at Nokia.
