China's Massive Reply to the Hubble Space Telescope, to Launch a Bigger Telescope By 2023

China's Massive Reply to the Hubble Space Telescope, to Launch a Bigger Telescope By 2023

China is all set to Launch a Huge Space Telescope to Investigate Distant Galaxies.

China recently announced that it will launch its first large space telescope in late 2023 to study skies, provide new insights about distant galaxies, and unlock the mysteries of dark matter and dark energy. Many space experts have stated that it is China's massive reply to the Hubble Space Telescope, as the country will join the space station in orbit.

It is reported that the Chinese Space Station Telescope (CSST) is currently working on the telescope, and it has an optical and ultraviolet space observatory that will boast a 6.6-foot-diameter lens, making it analogous to the venerable Hubble Space Telescope. The resolution of China's telescope will be comparable to Hubble's; the CSST's field of view will be almost 350 times larger than Hubble's.

With this telescope, CSST will be able to observe much greater spans of the sky at a time and will survey 40 percent of the sky with its extremely high definitional 2.5 billion-pixel camera during the planned 10-year mission lifetime. The telescope is named "Xuntian," meaning to "survey the heavens."
