Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) a nonprofit organization and Micelio is teaming up with Directorate of Urban Land Transport (Dult) to host the Urban Mobility Lab, which is a major platform that will support Indian cities to develop, identify, and implement mobility solutions which will accelerate the transition of Indian cities to shared, clean, and citizen-centric mobility which will serve as a forum for various discussion and an open platform for action.
Since 2017, RMI has partnered with the Delhi government and Pune Municipal Corporation. This initiative led by RMI will aim at accelerating Bengaluru’s transition. Dult commissioner V Ponnuraj said: “We are happy to host the Urban Mobility Lab. This initiative can support our current mobility initiatives and increase sustainable mobility options in Bengaluru.”
Meanwhile, Dult, DIC, and Micelio are also hosting a multi-stakeholder workshop from February 19-20 o inaugurate the Urban mobility lab. It is expected that the event will have about 120 participants from across the mobility ecosystem which will work together to address the system-level barriers and also plan for different mobility solutions. The workshop will have guests from various sectors such as charging and battery swapping infrastructure, data-based solutions, electric vehicle manufacturing department, and public-transit sectors.
