Innovation that is luminous: 500 drones to replace fireworks above Travis Air Force Base

Innovation that is luminous: 500 drones to replace fireworks above Travis Air Force Base

Fourth of July will be starry and glitzy at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California as 500 Intel Shooting Star drones will perform an aerial routine. This performance is in the honor of the holiday and celebration of base’s 75th anniversary. The United States celebrates Independence Day on July 4th and this day has been illuminated by firework show to mark the celebration since 1777.

This ‘Drone show’ also took place at Disney World, the Super Bowl, and the Olympics. But such innovative idea to replace fireworks show needs a lot of pre-planning. Thanks to Intel engineers who designed a sophisticated control platform that routes each drone. The system is capable of controlling an unlimited amount of drones.

There are multiple advantages to replacing drones with fireworks. First, it will not poison the atmosphere with smoke and dust that the crackers would obviously do. Second, it will be a quieter show that everyone would enjoy. Sure, fireworks are a 4th of July tradition, but there are tremendous other things that a drone can do. This drone light show is an amazing display of technology!
