Facebook to add fundraising option to its 'Safety Check' feature

Social networking giant Facebook recently announced that very soon it would let its US users to elevate and donate money using its "Safety Check" feature, the move will be a step to make it easier for people to receive help who got affected by natural disasters and violent attacks.

Launched in 2014, the "Safety Check," lets the Facebook users to inform friends that they are safe. The feature was at first used in United States last year after a gun man massacred 49 people at a nightclub in Orlando, Florida. The new addition of fundraising tool in "Safety Check" will soon roll out in the coming weeks in the United States, the company mentioned in its blog post.

As of now, the social network, have about 1.94 billion users universally, activated "Safety Check" for users in London recently  following a fire in a housing block that killed atleast six people and injured more than seventy. Also the company made the tool available earlier this month following deadly attacks on London Bridge.

Also, the tech giant Facebook explained that very soon it is planning to expand to include destop users to its "Community Help" feature, which helps people exaggerated by disasters find each other locally to offer and obtain aid.
