Reliance all set to bring Pret A Manger to India

Reliance Brands will open the food chain across the country, starting with major cities

Reliance Brands Ltd (RBL) has recently announced a strategic partnership with Pret A Manager, a U.K.based fresh food and organic coffee chain. With more than 550 stores across the world, Pret A Manger, which was started in 1986, is popularly known for its sandwiches, salads, and wraps, besides coffee. As part of the franchise partnership, Reliance Brands will open the food chain across the country, starting with major cities and travel hubs. RBL, which is a unit of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd, began operations in 2007 with an aim to build and launch global brands in luxury to premium segments across lifestyle and fashion. In the past five years, RBL has invested into homegrown Indian designer labels, such as Anamika Khanna and Manish Malhotra, as well as other global international luxury and fashion brands.

Its current portfolio of brand partnerships includes Burberry Armani Exchange, Bottega Veneta, Kate Spade, Diesel, Bally, Brooks Brothers, Burberry, Canali, Coach, Dune, Emporio Armani, Ermenegildo Zegna, G-Star Raw, Gas, Giorgio Armani, Hamleys, Hugo Boss, Hunkemoller, Jimmy Choo, Manish Malhotra, Muji, Mothercare, and Michael Kors. "The secret sauce of RBL understands its 50 million customers who have disposable income, travel the world, and want to experience new things," said RBL's managing director Darshan Mehta.
