Philippines Debut: OYO Rooms starts its Operations in Metro Manila and others

Indian hospitality company OYO has made an announcement that it has started its operations in the Philippines. For now, the company will start its services in over 21 franchised and leased hotels in the country. The company has started its services in cities like Metro Manila, Tagaytay, and Cebu for the business expansion and intends to grow in other cities by 2020.

As per OYO, it will make investments of more than $50M in the next few years in the country. With its operations, the company aims to produce over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs for the people.

The new launch will also create well-paid job opportunities for the local population in many fields like F&B, front office, general management, technology, housekeeping, data sciences, and engineering.

The operations in the Philippines will be led by Ankit Arya as he is appointed as the head for OYO hotels in the country. The country has a pretty good market with sizeable internet and mobile presence, which has created a positive approach towards the company.

The new move by OYO will create a positive environment attracting more customers since the company believes that neighborhood hotels possess the untapped potential of being at par with big chains in terms of services and revenue generation.

“With its abundant natural resources and many captivating tourist sights and destinations, the Philippines offers local and foreign tourists alike endless adventures. We are positive that a great opportunity lies in front of us to build a strong and sustainable hospitality ecosystem in the country,” quoted Abhinav Sinha COO of OYO.
