The Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) has decided to award McDermott International, Inc. with the sizeable technology contract. It is a group company of IndianOil and is doing this for the license that is going to be the basic engineering design. In Tamil Nadu, India the basic engineering design and proprietary catalyst supply for a 475 KTA are being aimed at. The Indian and regional markets will obtain a full range of leading polypropylene products. It will be achieved by the plant that will be using Lummus’ proprietary Novolen® reactors and proprietary NHP® catalyst.
Leon de Bruyn who is now the senior vice president of McDermott’s Lummus Technology said that this license award is its fourth recent polypropylene technology award in India, and places Novolen technology number one for licensed polypropylene capacity in India, with a total capacity of 3,100-kilo tons per annum. The SVP also mentioned that the unique compactness of Novolen reactor tech. McDermott the leading licensor of proprietary petrochemicals, gas processing technologies, refining and gasification will take its new move. That being said the company is said to move towards better progress and let us see how McDermott grows.
