Coriant joins Brocade’s open Mobile Networking ecosystem

Coriant, a global supplier of SDN-enabled transport networking solutions, today announced that it has joined the Brocade Partner Network, an open mobile networking ecosystem that will help accelerate adoption of SDN, NFV, and Mobile Edge Computing (MEC). Coriant is working together with Brocade to deliver virtualized mobile networking-as-a-service and multi-domain programmability. These capabilities will be featured in a Smart Mobile Cloud demonstration at Mobile World Congress 2016.

“Coriant is committed to helping our customers successfully transition to a more efficient and agile operating model by realizing the full potential of SDN and NFV technologies,” said Uwe Fischer, Chief Technology Officer, Coriant. “We are pleased to join the Brocade open mobile networking partner ecosystem and extend our collaboration to validate the real-world benefits of fast service activation and application-aware traffic management in multilayer, multivendor infrastructure.”

At Mobile World Congress, Coriant and Brocade are teaming up to showcase the Smart Mobile Cloud, an innovative and open approach to reducing service activation times and enhancing service performance in mobile networks. Combining SDN-enabled capabilities of the Coriant Transcend SDN Solution and NFV-based vEPC and S/Gi-LAN powered by Brocade, this demonstration features virtualized mobile network slicing, enterprise bandwidth-on-demand provisioning via a web-based service portal, and multi-domain programmability and control.

“An open and collaborative framework for service innovation is critical to helping mobile operators meet the challenges they face in today’s fast paced and highly competitive market environment,” said Kevin Shatzkamer, Chief Technology Officer of Mobile Networking, Brocade. “The Brocade Partner Network provides operators the ability to easily and quickly introduce best-in-class solutions optimized for evolving mobile infrastructure. We are excited to be teaming with Coriant as part of our new open mobile partner ecosystem and look forward to showcasing our integrated SDN and NFV solution at Mobile World Congress.”
