Holitech Technology, components manufacturers of Xiaomi, has inaugurated its first manufacturing plant in India. The plant is set up in Greater Noida and the company plans to invest nearly $200 million which is around 1,397 crores over three years. The firm will be manufacturing components like Capacitive Touch Screen module (CTP),Flexible Printed Circuits (FPC), Compact Camera Modules (CCM),Thin Film Transistor (TFT), and fingerprint module.
The plant is ready and will commence production later this year. Xiaomi informed that the production firm will generate about 6,000 employment opportunities. The firm spans over 25,000 square meters, and it is spread across four production units. The production capacity of the plant is over 300 million components a year.
"Xiaomi has witnessed the massive growth in the country and we are positive that Holitech's plans for India will herald a new stage of evolution for the electronics manufacturing industry in India," Muralikrishnan B, Chief Operating Officer, Xiaomi India, said in a statement.
The plant also features class 1000 and class 100 clean rooms. A clean room is a facility deployed in factories or laboratories for exclusive industrial production where provisions are made in order to curb particulate contamination and control other environmental factors like humidity, temperature, and pressure.
"The phenomenal growth of Xiaomi along with their initiatives to promote local manufacturing has encouraged us to explore component manufacturing for Xiaomi in India," said Chenguisheng, CEO, Holitech Technology.
