ZenFone 6 is rebranded to Asus 6Z in India before launch

ZenFone 6 is rebranded to Asus 6Z in India before launch

Just before the launch of ZenFone 6 in India, Asus has rebranded it to be called ‘Asus 6Z’. The company has sent out media invitations for the launch of the same. Now, it will be reflected as Asus 6Z on Flipkart, which is an exclusive seller of the phone. The rebranding took place following a Delhi High Court order that restricts Taiwanese smartphone firm from selling its phones with ‘Zen’ branding, which includes its ZenFone-branded phones. However, the launch of the ZenFone 6 has not been postponed amidst the issue and it will take place on June 19 as planned earlier.

The owner of Zen Mobiles, Telecare Network wasn’t happy about the decision and argued in the court that they owned the brand since 2008 and the rebranding can lead to confusion in the public. Meanwhile, Asus has scheduled hearing next month.

Asus ZenFone 6 was launched in Spain, starting from€499, which is around INR 39,000. It is one of the cheapest smartphones to offer a Snapdragon 855 processor. However, the company hasn’t announced the price of the handset in India yet. The phone’s highlights are its 48 MP Sony IMX rotational camera and a 13MP ultra wide sensor, a 6.4-inches IPS LCD notchless Full HD+ display, 6GB or 8GB RAM options and 64GB, 128GB or 256GB storage options, and a 5000mAh battery.
