“Do Not Disturb,” said Microsoft’s Xbox One

“Do Not Disturb,” said Microsoft’s Xbox One

Finally, the wait is over for Xbox One lovers. The sultan of computing, Microsoft is rolling out an update for the 4-years-old Xbox One, which already existed on its predecessor, the Xbox 360. The update is a “do not disturb” mode which will let Xbox One gamers to mute notifications and other distractions when they are playing a game or watching a movie.

Wait! This is not all.

Microsoft is also adding an online status feature that tells the friends you don't want to be bothered. With this new feature, people on user’s friend’s list will be able to see that the player is in do not disturb mode and no one will be able to hassle the player with party or hangout chat invitations. This New Year gift by Microsoft is especially amazing for all the Xbox One fanatics who want to kick back and watch a movie or video, or hell even play a game, in peace.

“Sometimes all you want to do is avoid all distractions and focus entirely on your game,” Xbox’s the official post states.

This new update will hit the market first for folks who are in the Alpha ring of the Xbox’s Insider program and everyone else will be getting the features over the next few weeks.

This new “do not disturb” feature is relatively minor, but is probably the most noteworthy addition on top of the mini-game hubs and granular options being added to the inactivity shutdown menu. Now, players will be able to choose from one, two, three, four, five or six hours of inactivity for the system to shut down.
