Project Latte from Microsoft is expected to brings Android applications to Microsoft Store and Windows

Project Latte from Microsoft is expected to brings Android applications to Microsoft Store and Windows

According to the tech world's rumors, Microsoft is soon expected to add android applications to Windows by 2021. Even though popular applications like Bluestacks can offer emulation for Android, this rumored move from Microsoft would make sure that the users can download and run android applications, alongside Win32 and UWP apps. Windows Central has reported that the internal talks are still on for whether there is a possibility to add Android runtime to Windows 10. This newly speculated move is expected to play a major role in completely revamping the tech giant's operating system that would launch by the 2021 fall.

The first attempt by Microsoft to adopt Android was made in 2017 for its Windows 10 mobile. Internally, the new project is referred to as Latte, and the project is expected to help developers bring Android applications to Windows 10. Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) is anticipated to power the project, and Microsoft will also provide the company's own Android subsystem for the applications to run. However, the applications running on Project Latter will not have support for Google Play Services and incase if apps need an API by Play Services, then it has to be appropriately updated to function the Windows 10 OS.
