Facebook to deploy Election Response Team for Elections

Facebook to deploy an election response team for the upcoming general election India, the Economic Times reported. The team will monitor and track objectionable content in real time 24/7.

People familiar with the matter stated that the base for the election response team will be Singapore. The team will closely work with Election Commission of India. Apart from the product team, which has been engaged for the elections in India from one year, many products and tools of Facebook have been overhauled, in accordance with the Indian elections. The social media giant will launch a new product next week. Dubbed as Candidate Connect, the product will help people to gain knowledge about the candidates representing for the Lok Sabha election in their respective constituencies. People can view 20 seconds short videos uploaded by candidates and evaluate them with what other candidates talk about the same pre-selected topic in 12 Indian languages.

There will be a data scientist, engineers, operations specialists, engineers, and policymakers in the Singapore election center; based within the same time zone to operate things quickly.

The most important things in elections are, whether it can transform the nation or not. Facebook has the potential to contribute to the elections. The company has been doing to cover all the official candidates standing in the elections. And outreach through political parties.
