Bigtree Entertainment Singapore Pte Ltd reported revenue growth of 52 percent and loss reduction of 30 percent for FY19. Bigtree generated revenue of Rs 619 crore this year, compared to last year's Rs 406 crore, as per the filings with the Company Registrar. The company almost doubled its income over the past two financial years, according to media reports.
The financial filing follows the announcement by Bigtree that it had raised an undisclosed investment for its Southeast Asia business from Jungle Ventures based in Singapore. BookMyShow SEA is moving its headquarters to Singapore with its first external crowdfunding for the company in Southeast Asia. In mid-2016, the company entered Indonesia, extending operations to include Singapore and Malaysia.
The company has focused on creating and developing films and the region-wide live entertainment ecosystem. In the last few years, BookMyShow has witnessed strong growth in its sporting events category and has tried to develop strategic partnerships to improve its segment role.
BookMyShow raised $224.5 million over six rounds of funding to date which was funded by leading investor companies like Capital18, TPG Growth, and Network18. Six companies were acquired including burrp!, Townscript, Fantain, Evntifier, and nFusion.
