There is good news for all the Suzuki lovers and those who have plans to buy a car later this year. Many other car makers have already launched 6-speed manual gearbox cars, but this time Maruti Suzuki has decided to take a drastic step to boost their image in the automobile industry.
According to a report, the company will launch a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox for different cars ranging from Alto to Ciaz later this year. The 6-speed manual gearbox is codenamed MF30, which will considerably boost the overall performance of the cars.
By launching this, it will also ensure that the cars are driver-centric with other different sophisticated changes to be made during the whole process. An extra 6th gear will upgrade the fuel efficiency in the account of the better separation of riggings. The cars will run at a higher speed but at lower RPMs, which will put a lot less stress on the engine. In addition to a better fuel economy, there will be much less cabin noise in the car in a six-speed gearbox car.
The initial six-speed transmission auto probably will be the Swift hatchback, which the company propelled with a five-speed gearbox a month ago.
“Maruti is looking to shore up the use of six-speed transmissions in a gradual way. Starting with 50,000 units in the first year the demand is projected to go to 400,000 units per year by 2020”, said an industry source.
