Amazon employees are reportedly bribed to sell internal sales data

As per the report published by the Wall Street Journal, Amazon employees are bribed by sellers to sell internal sales data that is ought to give sellers an edge against their customers. Moreover, employees are asked to delete negative reviews, turn over reviewer e-mail addresses, unban banned accounts etc. Amazon is currently investigating the matter of bribery.

Reportedly, middlemen used social media sites like WeChat to approach employees and then offered them money to release internal information. We hold our employees to a high ethical standard and anyone in violation of our Code faces discipline, including termination and potential legal and criminal penalties,” says Amazon spokesperson. The company has zero tolerance for system abuse and strict action will be taken against anyone who is found to be involved.
