Tech Mahindra bets on a Greener India

Tech Mahindra is betting on greener and clean India. The company stated that it will start a comprehensive program to curb the release of greenhouse gas emissions. In order to boost business profitability, the company will stick to sustainability to carry out its mission.

According to Tech Mahindra, its primary goal is to cut down 22 percent of its absolute scopes 1 and 2 GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions by 2022 and 50 percent by 2050, while considering the base year in 2016.

The company is working on several Smart cities project, in a move to start a modernization drive. Apart from that, the company intends to leverage tech-enabled green solutions. Solar generation has been installed by Tech Mahindra at its plants in cities such as Chandigarh, Noida, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai. 

Tech Mahindra’s stern action towards climate change has been recognized globally. Recently, the company has bagged the first position in MSP (Microsoft Supplier Program) Sustainability.

People familiar with the matter said the company is serious towards adopting a strategy which will produce more environment-friendly innovative solutions. A strong drive towards a green eco-system is being reflected by the company’s commitment towards using resources carefully and adapting a low-emission technology.

Tech Mahindra said that it is chipping in sustainability into all aspects of business and creating plans for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) dimensions. Because of a structured stakeholder program, the company has been successful in creating and producing strategies and initiatives.
