Reliance Jio Propelling the Growth of KaiOS in India

Reliance Jio Propelling the Growth of KaiOS in India

It was in mid-2017 that we saw KaiOS coming into the market and due to the popularity of Jio from Reliance, it made quite an impact. For those who don’t know about the platform, it is a Linux – based operating system, which is said to have a better market share than iOS in India. That is why it is now the third biggest OS and obviously after iOS and Android.

KaiOS Technologies is the company that is behind the third most popular OS. It is based in San Diego and the firm is led by CEO SebastienCodeville. KaiOS is said to have a 4.3% share in the country but the leader is Android with a 91.5% share and iOS is at 2.6% share as of July 2019.

For people who cannot afford high-end phones, KaiOS seem to be the best option for them. It is said to provide the same privileges given by other high-end phones like Apple, Samsung and more. A digital divide is being bridged cause of KaiOS.

KaiStore gives you access to Google Maps, YouTube, WhatsApp, the Google Assistant, Facebook and many other features available in other app stores. All of this is available in the 4G network.
