A key company official opened up on Motorola’s new move in India. It is now planning to step into the online space because it had seen a major loss in the past. That is the Indian shipment decline that was about 70 percent year on year and in 2018 saw a complete drop. As everyone knows Lenovo owns Motorola and that is why this new move is made so that it sees some progress in the future. In the past, the handsets designed by Motorola was quite famous because it came in the mid-priced range. India’s population contains mostly of middle-class families and with the daily expenditure, Motorola seemed to be a great choice. But that is in the past, now the current focus of the firm is to grow its business in the online space because it sees more opportunities. Also, the company mentioned that it seeks no specific headcount to enhance the business plan.
It is said to operate on a dual channel which is both online and office, further continuing to have a really strong partnership with an existing online player – Flipkart. The managing director of Motorola Mobility India – Mr. Prashanth Mani confirms this news
