The decision makes in Karnataka have sought ₹250 crore for the FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) scheme. They are planning to set up 1,000 public electric vehicle charging stations all across Karnataka. This means the electric vehicle generation has surely started and with this new move, we will see a lot of people using electric vehicles. For now, Karnataka has 200 charging stations available to use. Now they plan on creating a conducive atmosphere for this sector to grow so that in the future we avail better resources. For now, the Karnataka has approached the Centre for funds and Gaurav Gupta who is currently the Principal Secretary at the Department of IT, BT and S&T confirm it.
The government is well aware of the fact that Bengaluru has the highest concentration of registered vehicles. That is why the support for electric vehicles will remain constant. Bescom has now planned to invest time in regions of Karnataka where the population is said to be over one million. That being said, it is evident that Bengaluru will be the first one to receive these charging stations and soon move on to other regions.
