The Netherlands-based company, Interact (formerly Philips Lighting) has made an announcement that it will roll out a new IoT platform in India. The announcement was made public on Thursday.
Dubbed as Interact, the platform will help the company’s professional customers to rip the full benefits of connected lighting for IoT. It will also provide vital information to drive operational efficiencies and take more effective decisions. Apart from that, it will also assist the company’s plan to produce latest data-enabled services as value shifts from lighting products and systems to services.
Till now the company has already set up 29M connected light points throughout the world and it intends to make its new LED products connectable by 2020. These new-gen devices, sensors and light points have the potential to gather big amount of data for which Interact was created to handle.
The platform is very secure and scalable and uses high tech and latest data management and data processing techniques. The techniques aims to carry sense to all manner of data – creating data-enabled services for customers that will deliver benefits beyond illumination.
Interact also provides the trending suite of licensed open application program interfaces (APIs) which will encourage advancement from third-party developers, customers and development partners.
“By analysing the data from our connected lights, devices and systems, our goal is to create safer cities, energy efficient buildings and industries and smarter retail stores in the country,” quoted Sumit Padmakar Joshi, VC and MD of Signify Innovations India LTD.
