Dr Heike Riel, an IBM Fellow and executive director was recognized for EDITION F "25 Women Award" in Germany. . Now what is IBM Fellow? It is a way to promote creativity among the company's "most exceptional" technical professionals. IBM Fellows are given broad latitude to identify and pursue projects in their area of expertise. IBM Fellows are appointed each year, in May or June. It is the highest honor a scientist, engineer, or programmer at IBM can achieve.
Let us dig more about Riel … She studied physics at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany) and pursued PhD from the University of Bayreuth (Germany). She joined IBM Research – Zurich in 1998 where she developed the technology.
EDITION F, a German news and lifestyle website for women, chose the award winners partnering with some other leading news outlets.
