In a recent report by the Chinese authorities, it has been uncovered that the deadly pandemic of pneumonic plague which had caused widespread deaths has made an appearance in the region by affecting two men. Out of the three types of plague- bubonic plague, septicaemia plague and pneumonic plague, the pneumonic plague is the most deadly while also being the rarest out of the three.

“In the United States, there have been anywhere from a few to a few dozen cases of plague every year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2015, two people in Colorado died from the plague, and the year before there were eight reported cases in the state. From 2010 to 2015, more than 3,248 cases were reported worldwide, including 584 deaths,” said a report from the World Health Organisation.
