Thailand's most famous cancer hospital and research institute, Lopburi Cancer Hospital, a center of excellence for cancer treatment, becomes the first-ever hospital in the Asia-Pacific region to clinically use the combined drug therapy called RaySearch's treatment planning system RayStation with Accuray's Radixact Treatment Delivery System to treat cancer through optimized and controlled drug therapy.
Lopburi hospital majorly focuses on innovation and today it provides specialist treatment in and around Asia and the hospital has a system’s automated breast planning capabilities and various other unique multi-criteria optimizations.
The Lopburi team, which is led by Dr. KriengkriNamthaisong, director of the hospital and Mr. SomsakKhaunchana, the head of medical physics, recently installed used the combined drug therapy for the first time ever in Asia Pacific region. Treatment accuracy and precision are thoroughly being optimized using various devices and scanners.
RayStation is considered one of the flexible, innovative treatment planning systems which are chosen by many of the leading cancer institutes and research centers across the globe. It has many unique features such as unmatched adaptive therapy capabilities, maximum controlled release, multi-criteria optimization, market-leading algorithms for IMRT and VMAT optimization with highly accurate dose engines for photon, electron, proton, and carbon ion therapy. It will also help in boosting up the patient’s immune system and shows least possible side effects.
