"The Miracle Tree" has been used for Centuries for its Medicinal Properties.
Moringa oleifera, commonly known as the drumstick tree, ben oil tree, or the horseradish tree, has antidepressant, antiviral, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties and also controls high blood pressure.
The Moringa leaves are the most nutritious part of the tree, as it is a significant source of vitamin B, C, and K, provitamin A as beta-carotene protein, and manganese. Cooked moringa leaves have the same amount of nutrients as typical fresh food. It is a rich source of calcium oxalate.
The immature moringa seed pods are called "drumsticks" and are commonly consumed in South Asia. Drumsticks are a significant source of vitamin C, even after being cooked. Nevertheless, they also provide potassium, manganese, dietary fiber, and magnesium.
Mature Moringa seeds yield 38-40% of ben oil, rich in high concentration Behenic Acid. Perfume, food, and hair care product are manufactured using ben oil. The seed cake remaining after oil extraction can be used as organic fertilizer and flocculent to purify water. Moringa seed oil also has the potential to be used as a biofuel.
