The last decade has seen a growth in the tech that is designed for patients with disabilities. New bionic arms and legs do aid these patients and leave the stereotypical wheelchairs. Further, exoskeletons have also been a crucial part of the growth for those who have been paralyzed. But still in the industry today we still lack tech for these patients. But Cybathlon has plans and it has set out to improve this vertical.
A professor named Robert Reiner is trying to push the limits of these techs and he is planning to spread awareness on this matter. He did come up with the Olympic style competition where the people who are physically disabled compete with each other. This is a day-to-day task situation where people participating will have to do things which are done daily like making breakfast, fixing the light bulb, and doing laundry. All of this will be done through prosthetic arms, legs, and other aids.
This is surely a good way to show the world what prosthetic support / Limbs can do to the people. It will allow them to live life and do a daily task like all the others.
