Recently, Seoul’s Health Ministry hadannounced that a South Korean man in his 50s had experienced symptoms of Coronavirus while working in Wuhan, China. He was tested and confirmed to beSouth Korea’s second person in contact with the virus, during his return to South Korea recently. In China, the virus has been reported to kill at least 25 people and infected over 400.
The new Coronavirus termed ‘2019-nCoV’ had raised an alarm in China, where it first emerged in the central Chinese city of Wuhan. The novel Coronavirus, which had previously not been identified in humans is said to be highly contagious. Neither do we have a specific treatment for the virus nor any kind of vaccine to prevent it.
Security checks on airports had been leveled up all across the globe to screen for passengers infected with the virus, as concerns rise about a wider outbreak. In Mumbai, India two persons who returned from China were kept under medical supervision suspecting the two to have possible exposure to the virus. Travellers returning from China who are showing symptoms of Coronavirus are being sent to a specially created isolation ward at the Kasturba hospital in Chinchpokali.
Beijing is underway to quarantine about 20 million people, but the World Health Organization had announced that the virus does not yet constitute a global health emergency.
