Google rolls out a new task app for Android and iOS users

Google rolls out a new task app for Android and iOS users

Tech giant, Google, has introduced a new Tasks app for Android and iOS devices earlier this week. Along with the new release, there is also an update for the new Gmail UI for the web. The UI app was previously available for Gmail users, but now they can only use it on a standalone basis. The web version would be accessible on ‘task.google.com’ after the release.

But there is no guarantee for now that  the standalone app would sync with the ‘Tasks’ feature in the new version of Gmail, as there is no official word from Gmail on this. However, with the release of the new Gmail app soon, users will soon find out the interoperability of the tasks feature.

Furthermore, the task app is designed with a material language with a small change that is distinct on the navigation menu. The app allows the users to create a task through an ‘Add a new task’ button and a description along with the due date can be also added to it.

Additionally, extra features include the ability to add sub-tasks to a parent task and also create multiple lists containing different sets of tasks. Google Task’s product manager, Florian Goerisch, stated that the company’s aim was to create a simple and straightforward app that is true to its name, which can create and review to-do lists.
