Google is launching its neighbourly app across different cities in India now. The neighbourly app is designed exclusively for people who are looking for neighbourly information about their locality. The beta version of the app was out in May this year in Mumbai. And on November 21, the company rolled out the app in Bangalore and New Delhi.
Both Bangalore and New Delhi secured first in the waiting list for the app. Other cities like Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Indore, Pune, Chandigarh and few more will be included to the list. After that, the city which shows the most interest towards the app will get the app faster than the cities that report less number of interests.
According to Google, since its launch in India, the app has witnessed 1.5M downloads till now. Apart from that, there are still millions in the waiting list. The app has received a positive response from the people since June when seven cities had received early access to the app.
Users can download the neighbourly app from the Play store. Currently, the app is available in its beta mode. When users will use the app, they can experience the real neighbour like feeling, as if they are talking to their next door neighbour or to nearby friends. The app also allows users to ask questions based on their family using Google’s voice recognition technology. English is the primary language of the app but users have the option to choose different Indian languages too.
