Google has made an announcement that it has rolled out a new shopping search experience in India. The announcement was made public on Thursday.
As per reports, the shopping tab will be launched this month and its piloting process will be completed soon. The experience will be available in various Google products. The shopping homepage in the tab will be powered by a made-to-browse experience, the shopping tab on Google search and Google lens. The device will be available in Hindi.
By visiting the shopping homepage, the users can search products in various categories and search products in accordance with their preferences such as low to high prices or popularity. The availability of the experience on the entry-level phones will be considered as a Progressive Web App (PWA).
In addition, in Google lens, users will be able to find products with the help of style search- an all-new visual approach. The users can use the feature by pointing the Lens app.
Earlier, the company was in talks with Paytm Mall, Flipkart, and Snapdeal to participate in the new shop tab initiative.
“With this launch, our aim is to support the entire retail ecosystem, from shopping sites and large retailers to small local shops, and give them the tools, technology,and scale to thrive in today’s digital economy,” quoted Surojit Chatterjee, VP, Product Management, Google.
The new launch will attract more consumers as the country is filled with enthusiastic shoppers.
