Google Pay’s latest update adds peer-to-peer payments and mobile ticketing

Google Pay’s latest update adds peer-to-peer payments and mobile ticketing

Google Pay, a digital wallet developed by Google is launching its application update. Though most of these updates were already announced, they are going live in the app.

One of the latest features of the app is peer-to-peer payments, using which we can pay for friends or lend money from them. Earlier these were done using Google Pay Send, which is now incorporated in the main application.  Bill splitting with the friends is now easier, as mentioned by Gerardo Capiel, Director of Product Management at Google Pay. We can even request payments from up to 5 people if we purchase something using Google Pay.

“We want to basically bring everything into Google Pay”, says Capiel. Hence, they are combining the features of the two apps and it might eliminate Google Pay Send in the future.

Another thing Google is adding in the latest update is mobile ticketing. We can save tickets or passes that has some offers or gift cards. It will be available under the new Passes tab. Right now, some features like the Passes tab is supported by Android only, but the aim is to launch it soon to other platforms also like iOS and web. Presently, Ticketmaster and Southwest are supported at launch, it plans to add other online ticketing partners.

As Google inculcates such amazing features under one app, the app looks promising for all payment related needs!
