The new chips have Nova Guard protect, and this can block and eliminate the growth of microorganisms. The look and feel of the chips is similar to normal chips and it also weighs the same.

The center decal and plastic rim are coated with an antimicrobial material. Shigeki Machida, Managing Director of Matsui Asia, stated that the company is very excited to launch the new gaming chip antimicrobial coating. He furthermore added that since the start of the COVID situation, the company had worked tirelessly to develop this product. The Nova Guard Chip has its own properties, which can successfully halt the spreading of the virus causing bacteria.
