Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser parts way with ‘GTA’ company

Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser parts way with ‘GTA’ company

It is the end of an era at the Rockstar Games, as the co-founder Dan Houser is leaving the company on March 11th. The parent company Take-Two Interactive in a recent press conference announced that Houser was already on an extended break. The firm also confirmed that, his brother Sam Houser is still with Rockstar as its president.

It’s no secret that Houser was considered as one of the successful developers in gaming history. He was the one who created the world’s most popular and highest sold game in the history of gaming industry the Grand Theft Auto (GTA)and  Red Dead. He also had his hand in producing games unlike other co-creators. He was also the executive producer and writer for Red Dead Redemption 2.

His contribution to Rockstar is enormous; he created games which were way different and which broke all the records. Rockstar will not be in dire straits without Houser. He made sure that the company grew big, but his brother will still play a key role. This could influence Rockstar’s game design process, though, even if it's unlikely to make a radical change any time soon.
