CGV, a popular Korean cinema chain, is now allowing gamers to hire cinema screens for just 90$ for a two-hour session. Gamers can now sit in a 200-seat cinema theatre and experience playing video games like never before. Just as the gamers continue to fire the bullets into opposition players, the sound will blast through the dark room filled with cinema speakers. One of the first gamers to experience this has stated that the experience is unreal and the sound quality is amazing. The picture quality is very vivid, and gunshots feel so real. Due to the ongoing Covid pandemic, the cinemas had to shut down, and now they can operate with just 50 percent occupancy.
As there are no movies good enough to attract audiences back to theatre, CGV has started this new initiative. The gamers can now hire screens for $90 before 6 pm, and this will rise to $135 around the evening. Users must bring their own equipment with them. The new scheme is called Azit-X, meaning hideout in Korean. The owner of CGV stated that they were frantically looking for new ways to make use of the empty theatres, and he noticed that people are now interested in games. This motivated him to set up such an experience for the gaming community.
