An egg vending machine is developed successfully by the PG students of the Mechatronics department at Vellore Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu. The Central Poultry Development Organisation, Chandigarh created a prototype of an egg vending machine and approached many engineering colleges in India to come up with a working model. VITians agreed to designit and they came up with a modern electronic egg vending machine with a multi-coin dropping systemand smart-card swipe system.
The model was uncovered by Sanjay Bhoosreddy, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries. P.K.Shukla, Dean, Mathura Veterinary College, and PBlahwar, Joint Commissioner,Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries were also present at the occasion.
Vending technology has been a revolutionary trend in recent years and has become a new way of product delivery especially in crowded places like metro stations, bus stops, etc. There is a huge market potential for such tech mainly for daily commodities like milk, eggs, bread, etc. which must reach people without delay.
“This problem is faced by the poultry industry, where a huge gap is created between the poultry domain and the direct interaction with the market. Hence, this proposal provides some valuable insights for investing ideas to deliver a seamless egg vending machine, which could solve the problem,”mentioned researchers in an article on egg vending machine published in Poultry Innovation magazine of March 2019.
The concept of an egg vending machine can also be used by daily vendors to automate distribution in all localities.
