Abhishek Kar has been appointed as the new Director of Food and Beverages at Swissotel Kolkata. Food and beverage operations at the property, a part of the Accor group, will now be overseen by Kar.

Over 12 years of experience in the hospitality and restaurant industry, including some of the most prominent hotels in India, will benefit the hotel’s operations as Kar had already won many accolades for his work. He had previously served as the Director of Food and Beverages at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in Bengaluru. His career in the hotel industry began in 2007 when he joined Taj Palace and Resorts, Kolkata. Six years of hard work at the Taj Palace and Resorts had led him to move to Hilton Bengaluru Embassy Golflinks. His next venture was at The Leela Palace Hotels and Resorts in the same city.

General Manager, Jameson Solomon, had commented that the company is excited to bring in a bright talent such as Kar into the Swissotel family. Further, he applauded Kar’s passion for the industry along with his years of expertise in the industry and said that they are confident that Kar will use his innate organizational skills to continue the tradition of contributing to the growth of the organization. Kar loves traveling, reading books and during his leisure time, he switches to binge-watching.
