China’s swineherd has been devastated by the outbreak of the African swine disease, which is infecting swineherds in Taiwan. This left the Government clueless. It is said that the infected pigs were illegally transported to China. This issue was reported earlier, the month of August.
According to the UN report a floating dead pig infected with African swine fever washed up in Taiwan last week, which also recorded a fresh mainland China outbreak and an attempt to illegally transport infected pigs. An update on the crisis from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations said the dead pig was found floating on Taiwan's Xiaojinmen Island - also known as Lieyu - close to the mainland province of Fujian.
The blood samples which were collected from the swine showed a positive result for the same strain of Swine fever that has earlier unleashed Havoc in mainland China. The report also suggested that the disease is epidemic, as the strains may get mutated with other flu types and can infect humans making it becomes hard to treat the disease.
The government of China is considering researchers and doctors in order to keep track of this issue and also is putting in an effort to eradicate the disease as early as possible before it spreads or infects humans.
