By September we might see Amazon opening its online food delivery service in India. This is a piece of bad news for existing brands like Swiggy, Uber Eats, and Zomato. It’s like King Kong entering an ape territory. Maybe ahead of the festive season, we might see Amazon starting its operations.
Amazon is said to be working with Catamaran, which is founded by Infosys founder Narayana Murthy. These two companies will be collaborating and launching the food delivery service India. These two companies have started looking for employees and existing employees of both swiggy and zomato will be considered. Also, keeping in mind the recent problems that have been arising within the delivery department from both swiggy and zomato might make things easy for Amazon in hiring.
Another report says that Amazon might buy UberEats because it has been in the market for quite some time now and hasn’t made any sort of progress and hasn’t reached the same level as Swiggy and Zomato. This is the situation and so far it seems that this plan might be initiated but only time will tell if Amazon does makes this move.
