Higher education system in Wales gets appreciation from QAA

Higher education system in Wales gets appreciation from QAA

The education system in Wales was never the same as that of United Kingdom. It was always way too different. The significant minority of students all over Wales are educated either wholly or largely through the medium of Welsh. Although the condition has not yet completely changed, some minor changes have been brought forth. Recent report says that the higher education system in Wales has been branded as ‘excellent’ in an independent report.

QAA is an agency for Higher Education (QAA), which is meant to safeguard the standards and improving the quality of UK higher education wherever it is delivered around the world. The UK’s universities and colleges have a worldwide reputation for the quality of the education they provide, and the rigor with which academic standards are assured. The QAA review gave Wales a clean bill of health in the education system.  The declaration was based on a survey that was conducted between 2010 and 2016 that included reviews at 10 universities and three colleges, including the University of South Wales.  The survey claims that Wales possess an education system that slowly but systematically improves the student experience.  The Welsh Government's education secretary Kirsty Williams has already welcomed the report, saying it showed "there is much to be confident about".
