Have you ever heard about the USA based online shopping portal called Kozmo.com? It was launched in the year 1998 but eventually failed to hold a grip on their business. But now the company has decided to open up its new venture again.
Originally, the company offered videos, games, DVDs, music, magazines, books, food and basics. Instead of delivering the old stuff, the new Kozmo is more focused on bulk groceries delivery. The company will also offer a next day delivery service with a goal of dropping the groceries in two hours. Initially, the delivery charges would be $5.99 for orders costing a minimum of $35. Kozmo promises for discounts on goods over retailer prices where the customers can save between 20- 50% of their money.
The New Kozmo is under a new leadership. None of the original founders or workers are involved in this new business. Grocery ordering platform, Yummy.com has purchased the domain and trademark for Kozmo. The products that will be ordered through Kozmo.com would be delivered from Yummy.com and other local retailers.
Kozmo is currently available for the residents in Los Angeles, USA. The company has plans to expand its business into additional markets this year.
“Kozmo.com is an iconic brand that millions of people remember”, Kozmo and Yummy CEO, Barnaby Montgomery told a tech website in an email. “In addition, it’s synonymous with convenience so we felt that keeping the name with our updated offering was the perfect fit”, he added.
