Alibaba, a popular ecommerce company from China, has managed to successfully attract more than 300 premium brands to launch on its luxury pavilion platform known as the Tmall. The storefronts are expected to be launched successfully soon, and the platform has managed to witness rapid growth over the past year. Alibaba has become one of China's biggest luxury ecommerce leaders, and it has aggressively enticed global brands. The last few months have not been great for the ecommerce giant, as the company has found itself in the middle of an antitrust campaign.
The investigations are for the allegations made against the company for its monopolistic practices. Alibaba is taking a more conciliatory approach now to make sure that the company is appeasing to Beijing. The company made an announcement last week that it will be offering a lite version of the Taobao Deals app to take on its competitors. On WeChat, the Taobao Deals mini-program will now offer merchants the ability to accept payments through WeChat Pay. To help international brands to leverage new trends, Alibaba has also launched an app called IPmart for collaboration and IP licensing. As time goes on, it will be very interesting to see which brands will make use of IPmart.
