Facebook Groups to bring in a new feature to get better engagement

Facebook Groups to bring in a new feature to get better engagement

With an aim to lay online communities at the centre of Facebook, the popular social networking giant Facebook is testing the growth of its Groups feature. Facebook is testing a Groups section in its smartphone app that will see it emerge next to the chief notifications, friend’s requests and news feed areas which have appeared in current days for some users, as reported by recently.

With this new step, the typically hidden Groups feature in the app’s settings will be brought to the forefront to allow the Facebook to experience to centre on online communities. To this, a Facebook spokesman quoted “This is a test to help people more easily navigate Facebook and find what is interesting to them.”

The all new Groups section significantly features a “Discover” page for the purpose of finding new communities. It demonstrates groups set by categories such as “Funny”, “Food” and “Sport”, as well as groups that friends have joined from a local area. Facebook started a partial test of Discover last year but has been expanding it to more users recently. The section also features a third page for creating your own group, as well as a particular search bar for finding them.

As per the reports, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg observes groups private or public communities of users centered about a firm topic as central to the next chapter of the company’s growth to make Facebook a purpose for significant online connections.
