The largest demonstration of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) ever made by North Korea, according to some observers, could pose a threat to the US defense system.
A dozen or so long-range ICBMs were displayed at the military parade on Wednesday. At the midnight procession, Kim Jong-un was spotted holding his young daughter close to him. Kim Ju-physical ae's attributes have fueled rumors that she is being groomed to succeed.
Concern has been raised by the quantity of long-range missiles displayed during the parade. According to analysts, if each missile carried multiple warheads, the number of missiles—which might theoretically reach the US mainland—may conceivably overwhelm US nuclear defenses. However, it claimed that such an arsenal showed off North Korea's "mighty military deterrence and retaliation capabilities." More than a dozen ICBMs, together with an army of foot soldiers, appeared to be rolling across Pyongyang's central square in images released by North Korean media on Thursday morning.
The exhibition, according to some North Korean analysts, also featured a new ICBM launcher that appeared to be made to fit a solid-fuel missile. Compared to liquid-fuel missiles, which are challenging to counter, solid-fuel missiles can be launched more swiftly. However, long-range solid-fuel missiles have never been successfully tested by Kim's government.
