General Manager of IBM (India and South Asia), Sandip Patel stated that in the last two years, one in two companies has experienced a data breach, and have lost more 1000 records of customer data. The current Covid-19 situation has also significantly increased cyber-attacks. Covid-19 was declared as a pandemic in March, and since then, the number of COVID related spam has increased by 6000 percent. Furthermore, he stated that we are now dealing with a disruption that is one of the biggest of our times, and this has, in turn, made our cyber resilience more profound and pronounced. Acceleration of the digital journey can be seen everywhere, and businesses have now reorganized their priorities to stay relevant even during the COVID crisis.
Ponemon Institute recently conducted a survey sponsored by IBM, according to that, almost 46 percent of the Indian companies that faced data breaches have disrupted that IT and business processes. Whenever we face adversaries in the business, we always tend to look after cyber resilience, because it is one of the major concerns. Patel concluded by stating that we must adopt cyber resilient framework into our business to ensure continuity and Improve information about visibility and governance practices.
