With the skyrocketing craze of Bitcoin, hackers are looking for ways to use computing devices to mine cryptocurrency. And Cryptojacking is the current massive tide in crypto mining.
Cryptojacking might not be as spooky as a ransomware threat, but this notorious hack has become a major talk of the town. If you don’t know what Cryptojacking does, it is an attack that compromises computer systems and uses them to mine cryptocurrency, especially without the users’ consent. When a cryptocurrency miner runs in a computer system, the user witness slowdowns, crashes, and lags as the miner eats up system resources and interferes with tasks.
As a jab to crypto jackers, TVAddons have recently released an all-new tool to help Kodi users secure themselves from Cryptojacking. The tool is nothing but an anti-Cryptojacking scanner based on the No-Coin web browser plug-in. It scans the entire Kodi folder as well as compressed files and tries to identify Cryptojacking domains.
“For now, the script requires user intervention, which means it will not run on its own, nor will it delete or disable anything without the user’s explicit orders,” says TVAddons. “Anyone who has the tool and updated repository installed will be able to take advantage of this new function.”
