Here we go again! Another day, another hack and this time it was quite fast.
The Chinese hacking group —famous for jailbreaking Apple Devices— Pangu is back with another Jailbreak. This time the hacking group has Jailbroken iOS 12 running on Apple’s all-new iPhone XS.
Pangu was quiet, calm and out of the action for a while since it last Jailbroke Apple iOS 9 back in October 2015. But, out of nowhere the Chinese hacking team have suddenly targeted iOS 12 and surprised the entire world.
What is a Jailbreak? Every phone has its limitations and hidden features and the process of removing those limitations on Apple's iOS devices is called Jailbreaking. It allows users to remove restrictions implemented by the Apple’s iOS. That’s not all, it also gives users the root access to the iOS file system and manager, to download and install third-party—or not certified by Apple—applications and themes.
Min (Spark) Zheng tweeted “iOS 12 Jailbreak on iPhone XS by @PanguTeam! Bypass PAC mitigation on the new A12 chip. That's amazing!!!”
Min has also added two screenshots showing the successful jailbreak on Apple iPhone XS. According to one of the Pangu researchers, the jailbreak on Apple's iPhone XS was done by bypassing a functional PAC (Pointer authentication codes) mitigation implemented in the new Apple's A12 Bionic chip.
