New AWS Outposts services are now available in seven new regions and the hybrid cloud offering will be used in various customer data centers. The new offering is fully managed and it is available in the AWS regions of Asia, the EU, Canada, and the Middle East. AWS Outposts will expand its services, cloud infrastructures, tools, and APIs into the customer’s data centers that are on-premise. For the first time, the company’s storage server racks and compute will be outfitted with the AWS-designed software.
At the re: Invent conference of 2019, Andy Jassy, CEO of AWS made an announcement regarding the general availability of their services instead of being region exclusive. The latest web announcement from AWS showed that the new Outposts are ideal for workloads and they need very low latency access to the on-premise systems or application, local data storage or local data processing. Because of the new region expansion, the users can now connect to the region's nearest on-premise facility or data centers. The Outposts are currently being delivered, shipped, and installed by the AWS but there is speculation that the partners will eventually join AWS to perform these activities in the future on behalf of the company.
