Google to Launch a Second Cloud Region in India

Google Cloud has announced that it is expanding its presence in India with a second cloud region. The second cloud region in the country will be centered aroundthe India’s capital New Delhi.

The company has seen a huge rise in the demand of its services in the recent times. The Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said that the company is making a huge commitment in India and its National Capital Region (NCR) where it is investing to capture the opportunity.

“As we slowly emerge from the crisis of the past 18 months, we are turning our focus to helping Indian businesses accelerate their digital transformation, deepening our commitment to India’s digitization and economic recovery. The Google Cloud region in Delhi NCR will help our customers adapt to new requirements, new opportunities and new ways of working,” said Bikram Singh Bedi, Managing Director, Google Cloud India.

The second cloud region around the NCR will see customers experience low latency and high performance of their cloud workloads and data. The new region will have three availability zones to avoid disruptions. It will also offer a range of services including Cloud Bigtable, Cloud Spanner, App Engine, Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, and BigQuery.
