Cisco will now provide new cloud and virtual deployment options to its customers of Tetration Analytics security system. The analytics security system analyzes the information gathered from hardware and software sensors and lets IT managers get a better understanding of their data center resources. With a single tool to gather consistent security telemetry across the entire data center, customers get the capability to improve and simplify enterprise security monitoring as well as operational reliability.
For larger organizations, Cisco has added Tetration Saas, and for smaller operations, a software-only version of the package called Tetration-V. The Tetration Saas also makes sure that companies without a large IT skill set don’t worry about hardware capital outlay. While the Tetration Saas can scale up to 25,000 workloads, Tetration-V enables companies to use their own server and storage infrastructure for workloads fewer than 1,000. Tetration-V is already available and Tetration SaaS will be available in May 2018.
Cisco’s Tetration 2.3 is also set to be shipped this month which will provide several enhancements to protect application workloads. It offers a real-time inventory of all software packages along with version and publisher information. It gathers information from Cisco’s other security offerings and detects the common vulnerabilities and exposures in the servers hosting packages. Then it can quarantine those devices from other necessary enterprise resources. Cisco Firepower Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW), Next-Generation IPS (NGIPS), Advanced Malware Protection (AMP), and Stealthwatch are some of Cisco’s security options.
